Fair enough Drury but I repeat (paraphrased): If he proves you wrong and becomes a respected European keeper, will you give him credit?

Pattaya United or Bang Phra as you so entertainingly call us (gosh how we chuckle when we read that) - are also a TPL club. Why no bold type ? Have we made you angry again??BKK-Mackem is not the only jerk who uses the name Bang Phra instead of Pattaya United. I know it wasn't right when Bang Phra were taken over, giving Pattaya a fast track to the Premier League in 2009. Bangkok Glass did the same but their old name isn't used. And what of all the clubs who have changed names and moved on to different cities, why arn't their former names used. Get over it! This is Thailand its their football not farangs. Bangkok Glass have always been called Bangkok Glass. Krung Thai Bank had to pull out as the new rules stated that banks couldn't be sports teams - hence why they sold up to Bangkok Glass. Not sure what other clubs your aiming at? TTM? Osotspa? Still same names, different cities yes, but every called for them to get up and move out of Bangkok, they did, so we now complain? Your last statement of ''This is Thailand its their football not farangs.'' Ouuch. Where were they before the boom? Seem's everyone on this board is more qualified on the in's and out's of the Thai game than anyone else. I've only taken an interest in the league for the last 2 month, so I haven't qualified for my badge yet. I know sod all, so my comments should be ignored. Thank you ![]() Your a welcome member on the board Mackem. You take an interest in the game, your learning the Thai game - we all started somewhere. I have time for you mainly because you haven't posted a message and then run only to re-appear next year. It does seem apparent to myself that our friends that have discontent on this board are all based or holidaying in Pattaya at the time. They come, they give us a mouthful and then they go. The guys on this forum know the thai game very well, probably much better than the people who actually run the game. Personally I think I've done more for Thai football than most Thai's would ever do. The only thing your lacking Mackem, is that blog behind your fave team!! 2011 would be a good season to start - so get behind a team no ones discovered yet!! Fair points. Maybe, I'll have to start up a blog on the Jatujak Jaguars or the Ratchayothin Rebels in the distant future when they become teams. At present my local team would either be the Army, which I am afraid to say don't have much appeal or Kasetsart University! While I applaud those who follow the smallest of teams, I do appreciate watching a pretty decent standard of football and outside the Thai Premier League there is precious little of that. The banter on here is appreciated and without it I am sure we would all share less information and therefore learn less by the same token. Unable to make the Bkk Glass game at Sisaket this weekend, but looking forward to the weekend when BKK73 and I will be aiming to watch a double header of MTU vs. The Donut Boys, followed by Klong Toey vs. Newin's Blue Army on Saturday. Should be some entertainment in there somewhere, whether it's people walking off the pitch, kicking tables, thumping refs or goals galore. Cheers. Mackem, I agree with all Drury said on this one. By the way D1 does actually have some very good football at times. Watch Rajpracha and you might be surprised. |

SriRacha v BEC Tero on Wednesday. Should be a good night down by the sea. I'll definitely be there. An evening cup tie under floodlights and on a plastic pitch. Ah.....happy memories. ![]() But you wont be able to see Douglas in action. If you see the BEC coach, give him a headbutt and say hello. However, I envy you. Next time I will be able to see Siracha willbe ext year in the TPL. Hopefully than on away to MTU or BG. Btw, Siracha plans to use the actual stadium for next year in the TPL as well. No switch back to Ass. College. Will be interesting to see, when 2000 MTU sups showing up at Koh Loey park just before kick off. ![]() |

India game is at Thunderdome. t.e. did you heard anything about the friendly v Syria? I predict it will be played @ Thunderdome as well, but no official announcement yet. Btw, that may cause some more troubles in the schedule for FA Cup and TLC. Guess we will see further rescheduling. |

On the game itself - a pretty entertaining game, considering the state of the pitch (I've seen sheep paddocks in beter nick). Customs scored early in the second half, as much as Khon Kaen huffed and puffed, they didn't really threaten until the last few minutes. Their efforts were also disrupted by the shameless and persistent time-wasting by Customs. They finally scored in the last minute, only to have the goal disallowed by the linesman's flag. At the final whistle, the officials were surrounded by Khon Kaen players and had to be escorted off by police. A few KK fans left the stands to have a go at them too, which inevitably led to a brief scuffle between rival fans. However, this was quickly broken up by the KK fans themselves, the majority of whom seemed to recognise that the problem lay not with the opposition, or their fans, but the officials. An interesting part of the day was on seeing about 20-30 fans watching the game in shirts of other teams. Before the match I saw at least a dozen ( remember this is a small ground) folks in Thai Port shirts. One of these was in our stand, but the majority were with the home fans). Also in our section were about 6 or 7 Chiang Rai Utd fans, completed with orange wigs, plus a couple of fans in Samut Prakarn shirts. I've nothing against these folks coming to the game, but it just seemed odd that they came in other Thai league shirts. (Perhaps this caught my attention more because of a debate last season on the Wellington Phoenix forum about wearing Liverpool shirts at the home end for a match against Robbie Fowler's side). Two Liverpool shirts and one b****** f.c shirt amongst the Udon away support on Saturday! It seems odd to go to the effort of making a 600km round-trip to watch your team play an almost meaningless match but then wear irrelevent shirts for the occasion. Rather like the kind of sad individual who takes an Oldham Athletic flag to Thailand international matches. ![]() And, if ever I decide to form another band, I will definitely call it The Irrelevent Shirts. ![]() |

Is Pathum Thani a hotbed of football? You have the Glass Rabbits, Pathum Thani, Rose Asia and Police. Even Bkk Utd now?A ll playing from within one province? Anymore? Maybe simply a question of more room for pitches and stadiums than downtown Bangkok? |

? Have we made you angry again??
