Thailand beat Swiss team FC Aarau 2-1 at
Suphachalasai Stadium last night in their fourth warmup match before the
King's Cup, which starts next Saturday.
In front of a crowd of 2,000, Thailand
made a storming start and Therdsak Chaiman, captain Voravudh Srimaka,
Tananchai Boriban and Pipob On-Mo all went close.
But it was the Swiss team who opened the
scoring against the run of play in the 32nd minute when Andre Wiederxehr
hammered home a 20-metre free-kick after a foul by Panupong Chimpook.
Two minutes into the second half,
Thailand equalised through Thongchai Akkarapong after a good ball from
Voravudh. Tananchai then put Thailand ahead in the 66th minute after a
corner taken by Therdsak.
Thai team manager, Virat Charnpanich,
said: "I was pleased with our performance. Nataporn Phanrit and
Anurak Srikerd both impressed."
