Datsakorn heads for V-League (January 05, 2007)

BEC Tero and Thailand midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao has been transferred to Hoang Anh Gia Lai of Vietnam for a fee of three million baht, it was announced yesterday. BEC Tero will receive two million baht while the remainder will go to Datsakorn.


The midfielder has signed a three-year contact with the V-League team and will receive 200,000 baht a month.


''I am very happy to go and play in Vietnam,'' Datsakorn said. ''It has been my dream to play outside Thailand. I hope I can help Hoang Anh Gia Lai win the V-League title.''


Meanwhile there has been some progress in the proposal to merge the two Thai leagues, Thailand Premier League and Thailand Professional League.


Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT)Mr Kanokphan Julkasem said he saw no problem in merging the leagues.


''However I need to have more discussions with the Football Association of Thailand (FAT),'' he said.


Mr Kanokphan said a budget of 55 million baht had been set aside to help launch the new league.
