Thailand's Asian Games football team returns home today after being knocked out in the quarter-finals on Saturday by hosts Qatar. There will not be much rest for some of the players, however, as six have been shortlisted to represent Thailand in the King's Cup tournament which will be held from December 24-30.

Head coach Charnwit Phalajivin said among the players lined up for the King's Cup are goalkeeper Kosin Hathairattanakool and experienced midfielder Datsakorn Thonglao.

Others players are Hadtaporn Suwan and Suree Sukha both of whom Charnwit said impressed in the Asian Games.

If he is fit Suchao Nutnum would be included as well as Sutee Suksomkit who also suffered an injury.

Two more players, centre backs, Prat Samakrat and Kiatprawut Saiwaeo will join the pre-Olympic team.

The team will be arriving on three different flights owing to the unavailability of seats.
