Glass Rabbits dent Sharks' title hopes (14/05/2011)

Chonburi FC failed to close the gap on Thailand Premier League leaders Buriram PEA when they lost 2-0 to Bangkok Glass at the Leo Stadium yesterday .

The Sharks, who still remain in second place, fell behind to a goal from in-form striker Sarayuth Chaikamdee in the 30th minute. Bangkok Glass maintained the pressure in the second half and made it 2-0 with a goal from Japanese striker Saruta Hironori in the 73rd minute.

The Glass Rabbits are in third place, just one point behind Chonburi.

At Yamaha stadium, defending champions Muang Thong United continued their improved form with a 2-0 win over Pattaya United.

The Kirin took the lead in the 18th minute through striker Teerasil Dangda and Dagno Siaka added a second in the 65th. The win consolidates Muang Thong's position in fourth place.

Si Sa Ket, who upset leaders Buriram last week, had to settle for a 2-2 draw away to Phichit yesterday.

Pichit opened the scoring with a first-half header from Supakorn Naknoi, but the Kouprey equalised with a goal from Tana Chanaboot in the 55th minute.

Phichit regained the lead in the 72nd minute through Yeon Gi Sung but Si Sa Ket grabbed an equaliser just before the final whistle with a strike from Totsapol Karnpook.

At Saraburi stadium,Osotspa M-150 Saraburi collected three points with a 2-0 victory against Insee Police United. On target for Osotspa were Cleiton Silva (77th) and Lazarus Kumbi (89th).

The Army United picked up a useful away win with a 1-0 defeat of SCG Samut Songkhram. The only goal of the match came from Brazilian, Leandro dos Santos in the 37th minute.

BEC Tero Sasana defeated TOT SC 3-1 with all the goals coming in the second half. BEC Tero took the lead through Ronnachai Rangsiyo in the 50th minute but TOT equalised in the 62nd minute with a goal by Thanasak Srisai.

The visitors clinched the match in the last 10 minutes with goals from Akkrapol Meesawad and Ronnachai getting his second of the match .
