Sharks subdue Fire Dragons to go top (01/05/2011)

Chonburi FC beat BEC Tero Sasana 2-0 yesterday to take the Thai Premier League lead.

Veteran midfielder Therdsak Chaiman opened the scoring for the Sharks in the 46th minute and Jetsadakorn Hemdang finished off the Fire Dragons in the 66th minute.'

Chonburi have 26 points from 11 matches and lead Buriram PEA on goal difference.

Buriram will return to the top if they avoid defeat at home against Army United today.

At PAT stadium, Thai Port FC defeated SCG Samut Songkhram although the hosts are hit by financial problems and their players have not received their wages for two months.

Ekkachai Sumre scored for Port in the 18th minute and Thongchai Kenkuntod added another for a 2-0 lead after 74 minutes.

SCG hit back with goal from Polchai Hongthong in the 78th minute. They gave Port a scare with their all-out attack in the final minutes but Port held off their push to gain a precious win.

At Saraburi stadium, Apipoo Sunthornpanavej scored a hat-trick as Osotspa M-150 Saraburi comfortably beat Siam Navy FC 4-1.

Lasarus Kaimbe gave Osotspa the lead after just five minutes and Rattaporn Thanyacharoen sae Tan equalised for the visitors after 23 minutes.

Apipoo regained the lead for the hosts just before half-time. He completed his hat-trick with goals in the 81st and 87th minute.

In yesterday's other match, TTM Phichit's poor run continued when they lost 1-0 to TOT SC with Nattapol Pootawee hitting the winner in the last minute.
