Buriram PEA back on top (25/04/2011)

Hot favourite, Buriram PEA returned to the top of the Thai Premier League standings last night after edging TOT SC 1-0 .

On target for the Thunder Castle was Frank Acheampong from Ghana who scored the only goal of the game in the 15th minute.

Although Buriram controlled most of the match they could not add to their goal tally.

However, the win was enough to put them back on top of the league, three points ahead of Chonburi.

After sacking English coach David Booth during the week, Si Sa Ket put on a fine display yesterday, defeating the strong Pattaya United side 2-0 at the Si Nakhon Lumduan stadium.

With Brazilian Reuther Moreira acting as caretaker coach the Kouprey got off to a good start with an early goal from Victor Amaro in the 18th minute.

On the stroke of half-time Guy Hubert banged in another to make it 2-0.

Pattaya tried to fight back with Gabriel Obatola coming close, but Si Sa Ket goalkeeper Ruben Samen pulled off a fine save.

Si Sa Ket managed to hold on for just their third win of the season and three valuable points.

TTM Phichit suffered a disappointing defeat when they went down 2-1 at home to Osotspa M-150 Saraburi.

Osotspa took a two-goal lead in the first half through Lazarus Kumbi (34) and Cleiton Silva (44).

Phichit came out strongly in the second half and Korea's Shin Hyun Ho pulled one back, but they could not find the equaliser.

The remaining matches saw two goalless draws between Army and Insee Police at the Army stadium, and the Navy and Thai Port in Chonburi .
