Strong Sharks show their teeth (28/03/2011)

Chonburi FC climbed into second place in the Thailand Premier League yesterday with a hard-fought 2-1 win over TTM FC Phichit at Chonburi Stadium.

The Sharks had to come from behind after Phichit took a shock lead through Thanat Wongsupaluck in the 12th minute.

Chonburi fought back strongly and in the 31st minute the Sharks striker, Pipob On-mo equalised to make it 1-1.

Chonburi came out firing in the second half and were immediately rewarded with what turned out to be the winning goal by Natthaphong Samana,

Insee Police United lost their first match of the season when they were beaten 1-0 by the visiting SCG Samut Songkhram FC at Thammasat University stadium.

The only goal of the match was scored by Brazilian, Fabio Brabosa who beat the offside trap to move Samut Songkhram up to fourth place in the league.

At PAT Stadium, the Thai Port FC earned their first victory of the season after beating high-flying Army United 1-0.

Jirawat Makrarom scored the winning goal for the Thai Port FC with an excellent free kick in the 52nd minute of the match to earn three valuable points. The Army slipped to fifth place.

Because of trouble between Port and Pattaya fans at a match a few weeks ago, Port fans were not allowed into the stadium yesterday and the only spectators were Army fans.

At Mae Fah Luang stadium, host Chiang Rai United defeated Si Sa Ket FC 1-0 with the only goal of the match coming from Wasant Natasan in the 48th minute.

At Mahasarakam Rajabhat institute stadium hosts Khon Kaen FC ended a three-match losing streak with a 0-0 draw against the Navy .
