Chonburi conference to set new trend (07/02/2011)

Chonburi: The recently concluded Chonburi Football Conference will be the beginning of a new culture of technical knowledge sharing among football proponents in the Thai province here.
Chonburi Football Association (CFA) Education and Vision Asia Director Mohammed Basir told that the 22-23 January 2011 conference’s objective was to share the information from the World Cup Conference organised by FIFA and AFC in Kuala Lumpur last year.

Basir and fellow CFA staff Wittiya Laohakul and Nophodol Pibulvech had attended the FIFA-AFC Conference and were the presenters in the conference in Chonburi.

Basir said: "It was our intention to start a culture of bringing technicians together to interact or discuss technical matters to improve the development of Thai football.

"This was done during the conference through break-up group dialogue sessions, which culminated in group presentations on stage. Presentations from the FIFA-AFC Conference were shown to them and the relevant materials were distributed.

"It is our wish to see CFA’s football conferences grow from this humble beginning and CFA will continue with the process of training and educating our human resources."

CFA President Vittiya Khunplome opened the conference which boasted the theme ‘The Modern Trend’, and was held at the Chon-Inter Hotel here and attended by 43 participants.

Basir said the participants now bore the responsibility to transfer the information garnered to the players and fellow coaches or peers.

"This will be the true measure of success," he stressed.

Chonburi is one of the Thai provinces which are implementing the AFC's Vision Asia continent-wide football development programme .
