Thailand coach Peter Reid is pleased with his players' fitness but feels under pressure to do well in his first tournament. The team are preparing for the four-team T&T Cup in Hanoi where they will face Vietnam, North Korea and Uzbekistan.

''Their fitness is very good but the real test will be in a competitive match,'' Reid said.

The October 28-November 1 tournament will be Reid's first assignment as Thailand's coach.

The English coach said he knew that the Thai people expected a lot from the national team in the Hanoi tournament.

''It is like coaching in the Premier League which has a lot of pressure,'' he said.

''As the national coach, I will try my best to bring success to Thailand in the tournament in Hanoi.

The Thai team will leave for Vietnam tomorrow and will play their first match against North Korea on Tuesday.
