Reid recalls Anon after Sarayuth injury (October 24, 2008)

Thailand League top-scorer, Anon Sangsanoi, who was earlier this week dropped by national team coach Peter Reid, is back in the squad for the T&T Cup in Vietnam following an injury to key striker, Sarayuth Chaikamdee of Osotapa.

Sarayuth suffered a knee injury during training.

Thailand are preparing for the quadrangular tournament in Hanoi where they will take on North Korea, Uzbekistan and the hosts from Oct 28 to Nov 1.

"Sarayuth has informed me that he has injured his knee and is not fit to play so we have recalled Anon to the team," Reid said yesterday.

Anon had originally been left out from the list of 20 players earlier named by the English coach.

Reid said it was too early to name his starting line up but he was getting a good idea how it would shape up.

"The matches against Bangkok Thonburi College have helped a lot, but we still have five more days of training," he said. "I won't name the team until we get to Hanoi."

Secretary general of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Mr Ong-art Kosinkha said the matches would most likely be shown live on Channel 7, but a final decision had not yet been made.
