Former Sunderland manager, Peter Reid, will be paid one million pounds or 63 million baht per year as coach of Thailand, according to Worawi Makudi, president of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT).

Mr Worawi was speaking in China where he is in charge of the women's football in the Olympic Games.

Worawi said the ex-Everton player would get a four-year contract totalling 252 million baht.

He said he expected Reid to sign early in September and he would be in charge of the Thai national team for the Suzuki Asean Cup, formerly Tiger Cup.

Mr Worawi said the amount Reid would be paid was the going rate for English coaches.
