MELBOURNE : Chonburi FC players have been served with kangaroo meat as team officials believe it will give them extra energy in their AFC Champions League match against Melbourne Victory tomorrow.

"We ordered kangaroo meat for the players," said Chonburi manager Thanasak Suraprasert.

"Kangaroo meat has low fat and gives a lot of energy and protein. People who come to Australia should try it at least once."

Tomorrow's match will be both sides' last game in the group stage. However, there is only pride at stake as both have been eliminated. The match kick offs at 4.30pm Thai time.

Chonburi coach Jadet Meelarp said his men would play an attacking game in an attempt to get at least a draw with Melbourne Victory who lost 3-1 to the Thailand Premier League champions in Bangkok in March.

It is likely to be Brazilian striker Ney Fabiano's last match for the Sharks as concerned parties will finalise a deal for him to move to Melbourne Victory.

Thanasak said if both clubs reach an agreement and Fabiano passes a medical then he will sign a contract with the Australian side.
