The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) has not yet approved the resignation of Kittiratt Na Ranong as national team manager after the side lost 1-0 to Oman in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night. The defeat at Rajamangala National Stadium seriously damaged Thailand's World Cup dreams and Kittiratt promptly resigned after the game.

FAT officials said a meeting of concerned parties would be called soon to discuss the matter. They said it was likely that Kittiratt would be asked to stay until after the World Cup qualification matches are completed.

FAT president Worawi Makudi said he had not yet received a formal resignation letter from Kittiratt so he could not make any comment about the issue.

Thailand are bottom in Group B after two opening defeats. The other two teams in the group are Japan and Bahrain with the top two teams progressing to the next qualifying round.
