Thailand make changes to line-up for Cambodia today (December 04, 2007)
Nakhon Ratchasima _ Thailand will make a few changes to the line-up for their second match against Cambodia today following their unimpressive 3-2 victory over Burma in their opening game on Sunday.
Thailand coach Thongsuk Sumpahangsit said yesterday Sivaruk Tedsungnoen would replace Veera Kerdputsa in goal and Apipoo Suntornpanavej would start in midfield at the expense of Atthipol Poolsap.
If striker Teerasil Dangda is unfit, then Anon Sangsanoi will partner Teerathep Winothai up front, he said.
Thailand could only manage to beat Burma 3-2 after racing to a 3-0 lead. However, Thongsuk said it was good that he saw his team's weak points.
''The first match is often difficult. We want to peak in the final,'' said the coach.
He said he had told his players not to underestimate Cambodia who were defeated 3-1 by Indonesia in the first game.
Cambodia coach Scott O'Donell said he hoped to get one point from Thailand in his attempt to avoid finishing bottom in Group A.
He said Thailand were a good side and favourite to win the tournament but he had seen some weak points in the Thai team.
Thailand v Cambodia match will kick off at 6.30pm and be televised live on Channel 5.
In yesterday's action in Group B, Singapore upset Vietnam 3-2 and Malaysia beat Laos 4-0.
