China coach Gao Rongming pointed out that the Thai girls had improve a lot and this reflected in the scoreline. “Thailand were tougher than we first thought,” said Gao, who praised lynchpin Ma Xiaoxu’s hard work.

“Ma is pretty tired after the FIFA World Cup therefore she didn’t play full-time. If she did, it would be disadvantageous for herself and for the whole team”.

“Our goal as I told everyone is to end among the top three to qualify for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup next year”.

Thailand coach Yodprang Chana praised the performance of both teams.

“China PR were tough as we imagined but Thailand also did a good job. In the first half our players performed well. Either one of us could have won but China proved to be luckier,” said the Thai boss.
