Thailand to pay tribute to Kiatisak in UAE friendly (October 03, 2007)

Thailand take on the United Arab Emirates at Supachalasai stadium tonight in a friendly which is also a testimonial for striker Kiatisak ''Zico'' Senamuang. The match (8.30pm) is a warm-up for upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

Thailand will open their World Cup campaign against Macau at home on October 8 and away on October 15, while the UAE meet Vietnam.

Kiatisak, who played for the national side for 15 years, will start on the bench, said Thailand coach Chanvit Phalajivin.

He said his side would go on the attack from the start in a 4-3-3 formation with three forwards _ Teerasil Dangda, Teerathep Winothai and Suriya Domthaisong.

Tawan Sripan, Datsakorn Thonglao and Pichitpong Cheuichiew, who replaces injured Suchao Nutnum, will start in midfield.

UAE coach Bruno Messu, who guided Senagal to the quarter-finals of the 2002 World Cup, said he would start with a strong side as it would be a good opportunity for his players to play against a team with a similar style to Vietnam.

Tickets are priced at 50, 100, 200 and 1,000 baht and available at the stadium.
