Thailand coach Chanvit Phalajivin said the team must band together to beat Oman on Thursday in their second Group A match of the Asian Cup. Yesterday, the squad trained at the Army stadium and Chanvit said the key to victory rests with teamwork.

''We must win the match and although Oman are good individually their teamwork is not as good as Iraq.

''We must help each other during the match and be wary of giving away fouls.''

Thailand staff coach Thongsuk Sumpahangsit said midfielder Al Mahaijri was the main man to watch out.

''He is the playmaker of the team,'' said Thongsuk.

''We must not let them play their game easily.''

Thailand skipper Tawan Sripan said the side were aware how much was riding on the game after their 1-1 draw with Iraq in their opening fixture on Saturday.

''This could decide whether we qualify into the second round or not,'' he said.

''I hope fans will come and support us to help us bring out the best in us.''

The match will be played at Rajamangala stadium at 5.20pm and will be broadcast live on Channel 7.
