Free of fear (June 11, 2007)

Thailand coach Chanvit Phalajivin said he is not afraid of Australia's Asian Cup team even though it contains many superstars who play in European leagues.

Chanvit, who is in Germany with the players for two weeks training, said he was still confident of success in next month's competition.

''Although Australia have players like Tim Cahill, Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell we are one of the hosts of the tournament and we are not scared of them,'' he said.

''Their squad is as strong as I expected it to be.

''It will be good to face them in our last match in the group stage and we hope that we will qualify into the knockout stage.''

Thailand are set to play friendlies with Borrussia Dortmund on June 16, Fulda on June 20 and Eintracht Frankfurt side on June 24.
