Thailand coach Chanvit Phalajivin has backed veterans Tawan Sripan and Therdsak Chaiman for future success after their performances in the 1-0 friendly win over China at Rajamangala stadium last week.

Chanvit said the pair could expect further appearances.

"Every player performed very well in that game, especially Tawan and Therdsak," said the coach.

"They have put themselves in the frame for the Asian Cup, even though they are getting old."

Chanvit said the versatility of Suchao Nutnum, Jakkrit Bunkham, Nirut Surasiang and Datsakorn Thonglao means the midfield is in a strong position at the moment.

Thailand's next warm-up match is against the Netherlands on June 6 at the same venue in the capital.

Chanvit is expecting that game to provide a useful insight into his own team.

"Holland are a world-class team with many superstars," he said.

"It will be a useful game for the team and we will be able to see our strong and weak points."

The squad will then travel to Germany for a final training session prior to the Asian Cup.
