ASIAN CUP: All-clear given (March 21, 2007)

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is happy with the renovation of Rajamangala and Supachalasai stadiums, the venues for the Asian Cup in July. Rajamangala stadium should be ready by May. The AFC did not ask Thailand to make any changes to Supachalasai as it will be used as a training ground and hosts only one match.

Chaiyapak Siriwat, organising committee chairman, said Fifa president Sepp Blatter would preside over the opener.

Thailand are co-hosting the tournament with Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Thailand will meet Australia, Iraq and Omen in one of the four first-round groups.
