AFC to look at Asian Cup stadiums (March 20, 2007)

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will today inspect the two Bangkok stadiums that are set to host the Asian Cup this year.

Concerns were raised last year over the standard of Rajamangala and Supachalasai stadiums and several improvements have to be made by May 15.

New Football Association of Thailand president Worawi Makudi and Asian Cup organising committee chairman Chaiyapak Siriwat met yesterday for talks about the work currently in progress.

The AFC raised concerns about the marketing of the competition and also set some guidelines for the price of tickets to the matches.

Thailand is co-hosting the competition with Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
